How is it calculated?

eBay side: item price + buyer shipping come to you; sales tax is collected from the buyer but enters the fee base. Final value fee, per-order fee, ads and any international fee are subtracted.
Amazon side: supply price + sales tax (unless exempt) + shipping if any. Card cashback (e.g. Prime Visa 5%) lowers the cost.
Other cost and return share: fixed expenses such as packaging or software, plus the expected return rate applied to shipping, per-order fee and ads.
Result: net profit, margin (on the revenue you receive), ROI (on total cost), break-even price and the sale price needed for your target margin.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between margin and ROI?

Margin is net profit divided by the revenue you receive (price + buyer shipping). ROI is net profit divided by the total cost out of your pocket. ROI is usually higher than margin on the same sale; both are shown.

Should I include Amazon sales tax?

Yes, unless you hold a tax-exemption certificate: in most US states you pay 6–10% on top of the supply price. The default is 0; enter your rate in the Amazon supply section. The 'Just starting' preset uses 7%.

What is the break-even price?

The sale price at which profit is exactly zero. Sell below it and you lose money. The target price is the lowest price that reaches your chosen margin (15% by default); 'Try this price' puts it into the sale price.

How is the return share calculated?

Return rate × (supply shipping + eBay per-order fee + ads). eBay refunds the final value fee on a full refund; shipping, the per-order fee and ads are not refunded.

Why is the currency USD?

The tool uses the eBay.com (US) fee table, the largest dropshipping market. The currency conversion option adds eBay's 3% fee; real exchange-rate conversion is planned for a later version.
