Sellerviva

Which marketplaces are supported?

Sellerviva starts with Amazon.com → eBay US. Walmart, AliExpress, Home Depot and additional eBay regions are on the roadmap — the architecture is built to add sources and marketplaces over time.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. No charge until the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime.

How does pricing work?

Plans are based on how many products you manage. As your catalog grows you can move up — from 2,000 products on Basic to 100,000+ on Business & Enterprise.

Do I need the Chrome extension?

It's optional. The extension helps you capture products and supplier order/tracking details while you browse, but you can import ASINs in bulk without it.

Is my eBay account protected?

Sellerviva runs VeRO, brand and blacklist checks before every publish, and only ever uploads real carrier tracking to eBay — designed to keep your account healthy.

eBay fees

How much does eBay charge per sale in 2026?

In most categories the final value fee is 13.6% for sellers without a store and 12.7% with a Basic store or higher, plus $0.30 per order ($10 or less) or $0.40. Electronics, books, clothing and others have their own rates; the calculator shows them in the category list.

Is there a separate payment-processing fee?

No. With eBay managed payments the final value fee includes payment processing. Calculators that add 2.9% + $0.30 on top count the fee twice.

Why does sales tax affect my fee?

eBay collects the tax from the buyer and remits it; you never receive it. But the final value fee is calculated on the total including tax, so the tax rate raises your fee slightly.

Does opening a store lower the fee?

With a Basic store or higher, most categories drop from 13.6% to 12.7%; in electronics the gap is bigger (9.35%). But the store has a monthly fee. The plan comparison table shows the same sale on every plan; the subscription is not included.

How big is the Top Rated Seller discount?

Listings that meet Top Rated Plus requirements (30-day returns, 1-business-day handling) get 10% off the percentage part of the final value fee. It does not apply to the fixed per-order fee.

Profitability

What's the difference between margin and ROI?

Margin is net profit divided by the revenue you receive (price + buyer shipping). ROI is net profit divided by the total cost out of your pocket. ROI is usually higher than margin on the same sale; both are shown.

Should I include Amazon sales tax?

Yes, unless you hold a tax-exemption certificate: in most US states you pay 6–10% on top of the supply price. The default is 0; enter your rate in the Amazon supply section. The 'Just starting' preset uses 7%.

What is the break-even price?

The sale price at which profit is exactly zero. Sell below it and you lose money. The target price is the lowest price that reaches your chosen margin (15% by default); 'Try this price' puts it into the sale price.

How is the return share calculated?

Return rate × (supply shipping + eBay per-order fee + ads). eBay refunds the final value fee on a full refund; shipping, the per-order fee and ads are not refunded.

Why is the currency USD?

The tool uses the eBay.com (US) fee table, eBay's largest marketplace. The currency conversion option adds eBay's 3% fee; real exchange-rate conversion is planned for a later version.

Store plans

When does an eBay store make sense?

In two cases: you exceed the free listing allowance (each extra listing $0.35), or your sales volume makes Basic's 0.9-point final value fee advantage worth more than the subscription. At $30 sales that threshold is about 82 sales a month; the calculator tells you with your numbers.

Does a Starter store lower fees?

Only the listing fee: extra listings cost $0.30 instead of $0.35. The final value fee is the same as No Store (13.6%). Even for sellers with many listings but few sales, Basic is usually the better deal.

Yearly commitment or monthly billing?

Yearly is cheaper on every plan (Basic $21.95 instead of $27.95). Enterprise is sold yearly only. If you are testing, start monthly and switch to yearly once you are sure; the calculator shows both prices.

Are auction listings and upgrades included?

No. The tool covers fixed-price listings and base fees. Auction allowances, upgrades such as bold title or subtitle, category exceptions (vehicles, real estate) and promotional periods are not included.

Which date are the fees from?

The table is read from eBay.com's official fee pages; the version and read date are shown under the result box. We update the table when eBay changes it.

Break-even and pricing

Why can't I just use cost ÷ (1 − fee rate) for break-even?

Because part of the eBay fee is fixed ($0.30 or $0.40 per order), the rate is tiered, and sales tax enters the fee base without reaching you. The tool solves the price numerically with all those rules.

What's the difference between target margin and target profit?

Margin is a percentage: net profit ÷ revenue you receive. Target profit is an amount: 'keep $5 per sale'. For cheap items an amount target makes more sense, for expensive ones a margin target; both are shown.

What is the price ladder for?

When you see competitors' prices, you can compare at a glance what each price earns. The link next to every row opens the same scenario line by line in the Profit Calculator.

Why do you ask about Amazon tax and cashback?

Because break-even depends directly on cost. Without an exemption certificate you pay 6–10% tax on Amazon; cards like Prime Visa return 5%. Both move the answer by a few dollars.

Why does the result sometimes say 'unreachable'?

If fee and cost rates add up to nearly 100%, no price meets the target (for example a very high ad rate or a very high target margin). Lower the rate or the target.

Title builder

Why is an eBay title 80 characters?

eBay's title limit is 80 characters and its search matches the words in the title. A title of 60–80 characters full of meaningful words both fits and appears in more searches.

Which words are not allowed in a title?

Promotional and attention words such as FREE SHIPPING, WOW, L@@K, CHEAP, BEST PRICE; also unrelated brand names and misleading claims. The tool catches them and lowers the score.

Should the brand or the keyword come first?

If buyers search by brand, brand first; for a generic product (for example 'laptop stand'), product name and keywords first. The tool builds both; pick by how your item is searched.

Can I use the Amazon title as it is?

Usually not: Amazon titles run 150–200 characters, full of comma stuffing and repetition; eBay cuts at 80. The Parse button splits the title into parts and you choose what fits.

Is there search volume data?

This version is rule-based; it doesn't show keyword search volume. A keyword score based on our sales data is planned for a later version. In the dashboard an ASIN loads the title and brand from the Amazon pool.

Monthly projection

What is sell-through and how do I estimate it?

Monthly sales divided by active listings. 12 sales a month on 100 listings = 12%. 5–10% is typical when starting, 10–20% for established stores; replace it with your own history.

Why ask for an average supply price instead of letting me type the profit?

The engine computes profit per sale: eBay fees change with price and plan, Amazon tax and cashback change the cost. Typing average prices is more reliable than assuming 'my profit is $10'.

How is growth modelled?

Each month the net listing growth is added; sell-through stays constant; insertion fees for listings above the allowance rise automatically. Remember sell-through can fall with volume; look at the pessimistic scenario too.

What should I put in fixed costs?

Monthly costs independent of sales: software subscriptions (Sellerviva included), bookkeeping, exemption filings, bank fees. Don't add the store subscription; it comes from the plan you pick.

Are these numbers guaranteed?

No; it is an estimate based on your inputs. Returns, cancellations, Amazon price changes and eBay rule changes move the result. eBay fees come from the official 2026 table; the date is under the result box.

Sales tax

Does eBay collect sales tax for me?

Yes. As a marketplace facilitator eBay collects and remits tax in 50 states, DC, Puerto Rico and participating Alaska localities; you do nothing and pay no fee for it. But the fee base is the tax-inclusive total.

Why do I pay tax when buying on Amazon?

Amazon charges tax by delivery address; when the order ships straight to your buyer, that is the buyer's address. If your resale exemption certificate is uploaded to Amazon, no tax is charged.

How do I get an exemption certificate?

Get a seller's permit or resale certificate from your state's revenue department, then upload it to the Amazon Tax Exemption Program in an Amazon Business account. Some states don't accept out-of-state certificates, and not every Amazon seller participates.

Is shipping taxed?

It depends on the state: most tax shipping too, some exclude separately stated shipping. The 'tax applies to shipping' option in the calculators is for this.

How current and exact is this table?

Rates are Tax Foundation's state and average local data as of January 1, 2024; Louisiana raised its state rate to 5% in 2025. The exact rate is computed by eBay and Amazon from the address; the table is for estimates.
