What the extension does

The Sellerviva extension does three things, all started by you:

  1. Amazon capture — lets you capture Amazon product identifiers (ASINs) and send them to your own Sellerviva workspace, where product data is processed server-side.
  2. eBay Radar — on an eBay seller's public "sold items" page, lets you scan that seller's publicly listed sold items and send them to your workspace for competitor research. A scan you start can continue through several pages of that seller's public sold list (up to 25 pages), and if you choose "Scan all sellers" it works through the sellers you saved, one after another.
  3. Order Assistant — when you open an eBay order from your Sellerviva panel, it helps you place the matching Amazon order (it can press "Add to Cart" and fill in the delivery address for you, but you always choose the payment and press "Place your order" yourself) and, once Amazon confirms the order, records it in that Sellerviva order automatically and then shows you that order in Sellerviva.

Data we collect

  • Amazon product identifiers (ASINs). When you click "Add to Sellerviva basket" on an Amazon product page, the extension extracts the 10-character product identifier (ASIN) from the page URL or product markers. No other data is read from Amazon pages.
  • Public eBay listing data (eBay Radar only). When you click "Scan sold items" on an eBay seller or store page — or when you start a scan yourself from the Sellerviva panel — the extension reads publicly visible listing information from the pages of that sold list: item ID, title, sold date, price and currency, image and listing links, whether the listing is marked "Sponsored", plus the seller's public username, total sold count and public feedback score/percentage. This is public marketplace data. No buyer information is read — eBay does not show buyer identities on these pages, and the extension does not look for them.
  • Your Sellerviva session tokens. After you sign in, a session token is stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local) so you stay signed in. Your password is never stored.
  • Your Amazon order details (Order Assistant only). When Amazon's confirmation page opens, the extension reads the purchase ID from that page's address (URL); it is used only to recognise the purchase and is never sent (it stays at most 30 minutes in that tab's session storage, and a pending recording keeps only a one-way fingerprint of it). To find the Amazon order number, the extension opens your Your Orders list (last 30 days) on amazon.com in a visible tab for a few seconds (about 15 seconds after a single order, once at the end of "Order one by one", or when you press "Complete missing records automatically"), reads the orders Amazon shows there with your own Amazon session and closes the tab by itself (at most 10 list pages per hour). From each order card only the order number, order date and product IDs (ASINs) are read; the other orders on the list are neither stored nor sent. For an order placed that day for the expected product and not yet recorded in Sellerviva, the extension opens that order's details page in the background to check it. If it finds none or more than one, or the details do not match, it does not guess: when you press "Find in Your Orders", the list opens in a visible tab, the matching orders are highlighted, and you confirm the right one with "Yes, this one". For your first 10 orders the numbers it finds are shown in the side panel and recorded only when you press "Confirm all". Sellerviva can switch the automatic lookup off. From the order's details page the extension reads only: the products (ASINs) and quantities, the amount components (item subtotal, shipping, tax, total and any discount or gift card lines), the order date, the package tracking link IDs, the delivery status line, whether the order was cancelled, the delivery ZIP code and your Amazon account ID. It sends to Sellerviva the order number, ASINs, quantities, cost, the tracking link, the order date, where the order number was found and a one-way fingerprint (SHA-256) of the account ID — never the account ID itself — plus, only if you entered one, an Amazon account email. The delivery ZIP code is compared with your customer's only in memory and sent only to check that the Amazon order matches the eBay order, and it is not stored; the name and street address shown on the order are never sent. The extension never reads your Amazon account's email address; an email you enter stays with Sellerviva and is not passed to our tracking partner (Aquiline).
  • The delivery address, item and quantity on Amazon's checkout page — only in memory. To show "✓" only when the address Amazon will ship to is your customer's and the item and quantity are right, the extension compares the name, street (house number and first word), city, state and ZIP code shown in the delivery address, and the item (product ID or title) and quantity shown on the page, with your customer's order. The comparison happens only in memory; nothing from that page is stored or sent (only whether each part was found, as a count — see "Page structure counts" below).
  • An optional Amazon account email. You may enter one for this Chrome profile; it is stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local) and sent with each order record. It is not required: the account is recognised by its one-way fingerprint.
  • Delivery status of your Sellerviva orders. While you browse your Amazon order list or an order's details page, the extension reads only the short status line of each order (for example "Arriving Thursday" or "Delivered October 2"), never the rest of the page, and sends it to Sellerviva only for orders recorded in your Sellerviva account. The status of your personal Amazon orders never leaves your browser.
  • Your Amazon first name from the greeting ("Hello, …"). On Amazon pages the extension reads the first name in Amazon's menu greeting for two purposes. (1) To show whether you are on the Amazon account you used before for this store: for this, only a one-way, salted fingerprint of the name is kept in this browser, and that fingerprint is never sent. (2) To show your Amazon account by name in your Sellerviva panel (for example "Alex ·6a2e", where "·6a2e" is the first four characters of the account's one-way fingerprint): the first name is sent to Sellerviva together with the one-way fingerprint (SHA-256) of that account's ID, as part of the account check described under "When we collect it", and Sellerviva stores it with that account's record in your workspace. A name you give the account yourself (see the next point) is always shown instead. In this browser the first name is also kept next to an Amazon account that is already in the extension's account list, so that the extension shows the same name. During the delivery check, Sellerviva also sends the extension the display names (the name you gave or the Amazon first name) of the other Amazon accounts in your workspace, so that the extension can tell you which account to switch to; this list is kept in this browser until the next delivery check replaces it. The first name is also contained in the tracking page copy described below. The extension never reads your Amazon account's email address.
  • A name you give an Amazon account (optional). In the extension's popup or side panel you can give each Amazon account a name of your own (for example "Main account"). The name is stored in your browser (chrome.storage.local) and sent to Sellerviva with the account check, when you confirm the account for a store and when you rename it, so that the account is shown with this name in your Sellerviva panel. If you remove the name, the extension asks Sellerviva to remove it too, and the account is shown with its Amazon first name again. Names that look like web addresses are not sent.
  • Diagnostic codes. When a step cannot be completed on an Amazon page (for example the state could not be selected or the order number was not found), the extension sends Sellerviva a short code from a fixed list, the page type (such as "checkout") and the extension version, at most once per hour per code. No personal data, no page address and no page text are sent. One exception: when the status line of an order recorded in your Sellerviva account is not recognised, the code also carries the first 60 characters of that status line, with every digit replaced by "#" and every capitalised word after the first replaced by "X" (for example "Payment revision needed"), so the extension can be taught the new wording; each distinct masked line is sent at most once per hour. Order numbers, names and addresses are never included.
  • Page structure counts ("page pulse"). When the Order Assistant reads an Amazon page (the Your Orders list, an order's details page, the confirmation page, the checkout page or the page between the cart and checkout), the extension sends Sellerviva only numbers about that page's structure — for example how many order cards the list shows, or whether the order number box, the delivery address block or the order total was found (each a count from 0 to 999 from a fixed list) — plus the page type, how the page was read, the result, a size range, a duration range and the extension version, at most once every 10 minutes per page type and 20 times per hour. No text, names, addresses, order numbers, customer IDs or page addresses are sent. If Amazon changes its pages, Sellerviva is alerted and automatic recording falls back to your confirmation. Two of these readings are measurements only and never record an order: the confirmation page is watched for up to 15 seconds, and at most once a day, while the Your Orders tab is open, the same list is also loaded in an invisible frame inside that tab only to count its order cards.

When we collect it

Collection only ever starts with your explicit action: a click on the capture/scan button, a scan you start from the Sellerviva panel, or an order you open with the Order Assistant. There are three exceptions. Two are limited to orders already recorded in your Sellerviva account: the delivery status line, read while you browse your own Amazon order pages (see above), and the delivery check described below, which also runs by itself about once an hour. The third is the account check described below, which runs while you are signed in to the extension and open an amazon.com page. The extension never collects on other sites and never reads your personal Amazon orders.

Account check (extension 0.24.0+; first name 0.37.4+). A few seconds after an amazon.com page opens in a visible tab, the extension tells Sellerviva which Amazon account is signed in on this Chrome profile, so that Sellerviva can show the account by name and tell you when an account's orders cannot be tracked. It sends the one-way fingerprint (SHA-256) of the account ID (never the ID itself), the name you gave the account, if any, and the first name from Amazon's greeting (see above), at most once every 10 minutes per account unless one of these names has changed. Sellerviva stores the time the account was last seen and these names with that account's record in your workspace. In this browser the extension keeps the account's one-way fingerprint, the time of the last account check and salted fingerprints of the names it sent; the names themselves are kept here only as described above.

Delivery check (extension 0.23.0+). About once an hour, a few minutes after Chrome starts, and when you press "Check orders now" (side panel or the Sellerviva Orders page), the extension asks Sellerviva which of your recorded Amazon orders need a shipping update and reads only those orders' Amazon details page and package tracking page — from an amazon.com tab you already have open, with your own Amazon session, without opening or changing tabs (only when you press the button and no Amazon tab is open, one background tab is opened and closed again). It waits while you are on Amazon's cart or checkout, stops at once if Amazon asks you to sign in or shows a security check (it never solves it), and reads at most 40 pages per check, one every 4 to 9 seconds. From these pages it reads only the delivery status, the carrier name, the tracking number, the products and quantities, whether the order was cancelled or can no longer be cancelled, and a one-way fingerprint (SHA-256) of your Amazon account ID, used to skip the orders of another Amazon account. These are sent to Sellerviva so that your eBay order can be marked as shipped. When Sellerviva asks for it, a copy of the tracking page is also sent and passed to our tracking partner (Aquiline) to update the shipment. Aquiline only accepts the page with its structure intact, so the copy is kept as Amazon shows it, including the greeting name and the ID of the Amazon account that placed the order (this ID is also sent to Aquiline as a separate field). Only the "Deliver to" location, address blocks and security tokens are removed in your browser, and ZIP codes are replaced with "[REDACTED]". On our server your customer's name, street address and ZIP code are replaced with "[REDACTED]" wherever they appear; the copy is then checked again and is not sent if any of your customer's details remain. In this browser the extension keeps only the last check's counts and time and the account fingerprint.

Once you start an eBay Radar scan, it then continues on its own until it finishes or you cancel it:

  • The pages of that seller's public sold list are downloaded without opening tabs, using the eBay session already in your browser — the same pages you could open yourself. The extension has no access to your cookies and never reads or stores them.
  • Each page is parsed in a hidden helper document (the offscreen permission), the listing fields listed above are sent to your workspace, and the page is then discarded from memory. Images are not downloaded, and no page content is kept in the extension.
  • There is a polite pace between pages (about 2.5 seconds) and a cap of 25 pages per seller.
  • If eBay shows a bot check, the extension falls back to opening one background tab for that seller's page (it does not steal focus). There is no hidden or incognito browsing.

When you open an order with the Order Assistant (or start "Order one by one" on the Orders page):

  • On a product page the extension can press "Add to Cart" for the ordered product (never "Buy Now" or 1-Click), and on checkout it fills in the delivery address form with your customer's address. The extension never places or pays for an order — the payment and "Place your order" are always yours.
  • The order is recorded only after you place it: when Amazon's confirmation page opens, a short recording job starts. It runs in whichever amazon.com tab you have open (so it continues even if the next order opens in the same tab), sends at most one request to Amazon every 2 seconds and at most 60 per hour, and pauses if Amazon asks you to sign in or shows a security check (after a security check it waits until you open an Amazon order page or 30 minutes pass, so it does not keep retrying). Pending recordings and tracking link attempts are kept in this browser for at most 24 hours.
  • To find the order number, the Your Orders tab described above opens in front of you for a few seconds and closes by itself; the side panel then shows how many orders were found. For your first 10 orders you confirm them with one click ("Confirm all"); after 10 correct suggestions in a row they are recorded automatically.
  • If Amazon shows its "Need anything else?" page between the cart and checkout, the extension presses "Continue to checkout" (never the suggested items). If that page's address contains your Amazon customer ID, only a one-way fingerprint (SHA-256) of it is kept in that tab to recognise the account; the ID itself is never stored or sent.
  • After an order is recorded, the Sellerviva tab you started from is refreshed and brought to the front (no new tab is opened), the same Amazon tab is reused for the next order, and the helper Your Orders tabs close by themselves.
  • If Amazon does not show the tracking link yet, that order's details page is checked again a few times (at most 5 times within 15 minutes) while an Amazon tab is open, then it stops.
  • With "Order one by one", the waiting orders of the last 10 days open one after another, oldest first, in the same Amazon tab; you can skip an order or stop the queue at any time.
  • So that the same order is never bought twice, the extension remembers in this browser which orders you placed but whose recording is not finished yet (Sellerviva order IDs only, at most 10 days) and which products it added to your cart (product IDs only, until the browser closes). Such an order is not opened for purchase again until its recording is completed or you say it must be placed again.
  • A small Sellerviva strip shows the current step at the bottom right of the Amazon page. It is the extension's own page in a frame: Amazon's scripts cannot read its content.

Diagnostics (page structure measurement)

The side panel has a hidden Diagnostics section, a support tool used only to adapt the extension when Amazon changes its pages. It is not shown by default: it appears only if you click the version number at the bottom of the side panel five times in a row (for example when our support asks you to). It runs only when you press one of its buttons, on the amazon.com tab you are looking at:

  • "Measure this page's structure" records the page's skeleton: which known elements exist, their tag names and id/class/name attribute names (long or personal-looking values are masked), how many options a list has and the format of their values, the names of the page address's parameters (not their values), the fixed labels of Amazon's order-total rows, and yes/no answers such as "does the order number in the page address match the one shown on the page?". It does not take values: no names, street addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, ZIP codes, order numbers, prices or other page text. The only text it keeps is the list of US state names offered by Amazon's address form and the fixed order-total row labels (for example "Grand Total"), which are the same for everyone.
  • "Copy cleaned HTML" copies a skeleton of the current page in which all text is replaced by a placeholder and form values, scripts and personal-looking patterns are removed.
  • Before anything is saved or copied, the extension checks it for email addresses, phone numbers, ZIP codes and Amazon order numbers. If one is found, nothing is saved or copied and you see "Personal data found — not copied". In addition, the words of the recipient's name, street and city of the order the Order Assistant is working on (held only in memory, never stored) are replaced by a placeholder before anything is saved or copied.
  • Results stay only in this browser (chrome.storage.local; at most 20 measurements, deleted after 48 hours or when you press "Clear") and reach only your own clipboard, when you press "Copy all" or "Copy cleaned HTML". The extension never sends them to Sellerviva or anyone else.
  • On Amazon's order confirmation page, "Open this order's details" opens that order's details page on amazon.com in a new tab, using the order ID in the page address. The ID is not stored or sent.

Data we do NOT collect

  • No browsing history, no search queries.
  • No page contents beyond the specific product/listing fields described above.
  • No names, street addresses, phone numbers, email addresses or payment data from Amazon pages, except as follows. The Order Assistant uses the delivery ZIP code only for the check described above and does not store it, and it compares the selected checkout address only in memory. Your own first name from Amazon's greeting is sent to Sellerviva only to show your Amazon account by name, as described above. The tracking page copy described above keeps only your own greeting name and Amazon account ID, never your customer's name, street address or ZIP code.
  • No analytics or tracking pixels. No data is shared with any third party except the tracking page copy passed to our tracking partner (Aquiline) as described above.

Where data goes

Captured data is sent only to Sellerviva's own API (sellerviva.com/api) over HTTPS, tied to your authenticated account, and only for the actions described above. Data is processed under Sellerviva's main Privacy Policy and applicable law (GDPR/KVKK).

Affiliate links

Amazon links that Sellerviva itself generates — the "Order now" button and ASIN links in your panel (which pass through a sellerviva.com redirect), and the Amazon tab the extension opens for you — may carry an Amazon Associates tracking tag: your own tag if you saved one in your panel, otherwise Sellerviva's. The tag is a plain identifier in the link address and adds no data collection. While you browse Amazon yourself, the extension switches a product page once to the tagged address whenever a tag is set in your Sellerviva workspace; it does so only on product pages whose address carries no tag at all, and a tag that is already present — anyone's — is never replaced.

Permissions used and why

Permission Why
storage Keep your session, capture basket and optional Amazon account email locally; the Order Assistant's working state (order IDs and the product IDs it added to the cart) until the browser closes; pending recordings (order and Amazon order numbers, cost, tracking link, status codes and a one-way fingerprint of the purchase ID; no names or addresses; at most 24 hours); the list of placed orders whose recording is not finished (order IDs only; at most 10 days); a Your Orders reading in progress (order IDs and the order numbers, dates and product IDs it read; until it finishes) and the page-pulse sending times (until the browser closes); the Amazon account fingerprints (with the name you gave each account and, for accounts already in the list, their Amazon first name), the salted fingerprint of the greeting name, and the time and salted fingerprints of the last account check; the display names of your workspace's other Amazon accounts from the last delivery check; the Diagnostics measurements you take (at most 20, for 48 hours); and the last delivery check's summary (counts and time) and the fingerprint of the Amazon account it read
sidePanel Show the Sellerviva side panel next to the page you are working on
clipboardWrite Copy captured ASINs, or a Diagnostics measurement, to your clipboard when you press a copy button
offscreen Parse the downloaded eBay sold pages in a hidden helper document during a scan (a service worker cannot parse HTML by itself). It shows no interface and reads nothing on its own
www.amazon.com content script Detect the ASIN on product pages and show the capture button; for the Order Assistant, guide the checkout steps (press "Add to Cart", fill in the delivery address, compare the delivery address, item and quantity on the checkout page in memory, press "Continue to checkout" on Amazon's in-between page), show the Sellerviva strip, recognise the confirmation page, read the Your Orders list in the visible tab it opens after you place an order (and highlight the matching orders when you press "Find in Your Orders") and read that order's details page on amazon.com; count page-structure elements ("page pulse") as described above; read the status line on your order pages for your Sellerviva orders; only when you press a Diagnostics button, measure the current page's structure as described above; for the delivery check, read the details and tracking pages of your recorded orders from inside the tab as described above
www.ebay.com search/store content script Show the "Scan sold items" button and read the public sold-listing data described above
sellerviva.com content script On Sellerviva's own site only: catch the "Order" click so the tab and side panel open together, receive "Order one by one" and "Check orders now" from the Orders page, and, after an order is recorded, tell that order's open page to refresh its data (the order page is not reloaded, so nothing you typed there is lost)
https://sellerviva.com/* host access Talk to your Sellerviva account (sign-in, stores, sending captured data); after an order is recorded, refresh the Sellerviva tab you started from (or find that order's page among your open Sellerviva tabs) and bring it to the front (only Sellerviva tabs are looked at)
https://www.ebay.com/* host access Download the pages of a sold list you asked to scan, without opening tabs
alarms Run the delivery check about once an hour and a few minutes after Chrome starts, even while the extension is asleep
idle During an automatic delivery check, notice whether you are using the browser right now, so that only urgent orders are checked, more slowly, while you work
scripting Only when the extension is updated or first installed: reload the extension's own Sellerviva bridge script into your open Sellerviva tabs, so that buttons such as "Check orders now" keep working without reloading the page. No script is injected into any other site and no page content is read
https://www.amazon.com/* host access Look at the addresses of your open amazon.com tabs to pick one for the delivery check and to wait while you are on the cart or checkout. Amazon pages are read only from inside an open amazon.com tab, as described above
http://localhost:3000/*, http://localhost:3001/* host access Development and self-hosted use only: talk to a Sellerviva instance running on your own computer. Nothing is sent to any third party

Data retention & deletion

Session tokens are deleted when you sign out or remove the extension. The capture basket is local and cleared when sent or when you clear it. An optional Amazon account email stays in your browser until you change it or remove the extension; the Order Assistant's working state is cleared when the browser closes; pending recordings are deleted after 24 hours and the list of placed orders after 10 days (or as soon as the order is recorded); a Your Orders reading in progress is cleared when it finishes and the page-pulse sending times when the browser closes; the account fingerprints, with the account names kept next to them, stay until you remove the extension; the other accounts' display names are replaced at each delivery check; Diagnostics measurements are deleted after 48 hours, when you press "Clear" or when you remove the extension. On Sellerviva's server, your Amazon first name and the name you gave an account are kept with that account's record in your workspace: the first name is replaced when Amazon shows a different one, and when you remove a name you gave an account, the extension asks Sellerviva to remove it too. Both names are deleted when your workspace is closed, or when you delete your Sellerviva account as the workspace's last member. Server-side data is governed by Sellerviva's retention policy; you can request account deletion in the Sellerviva panel.
